In Spiritual Space, People Are Not Valued For Their Physical Or Financial Strength! Sadhguru In this video, I explain how you can turn every action of yours into Meditation. Majority of the people believe that Meditation is all about sitting in certain postures with eyes closed. No doubt, this traditional way of sitting Meditation is an extremely power of going beyond your mind, it's an extremely powerful way of experiencing the Divine within yourself, but that is not the only way to meditate. You can meditate even with open eyes. You can meditate even when you're extremely active. Closed eyes and stillness of the body are not at all the necessary conditions for Meditation, they are not at all the prerequisite for Meditation. Though closed eyes and still body help greatly in stilling your mind, they are really very powerful in calming down your mind. Closed eyes help because it prevents the consciousness from coming out of your eyes and getting involved with the things that they see, and still body helps because the mind and body are like the two sides of the same coin, what you do to one has a great influence on the other. When you have any negative thoughts, or any negative emotion like anger, it clearly shows in your body, it clearly shows on your face. So if you keep the body still, it helps greatly in stilling you mind. It has a tremendous calming effect on the mind and this is the reason why this sitting Meditation came into being in the first place. Those Awakened beings who created the sitting Meditation knew all the workings of the body and mind, how they influence each other. So I was saying that the sitting Meditation is not the only way to meditate.

The truth is, you can turn every activity, every action of yours into meditation, if you can do that consciously. Yes, Consciousness is the thing, it's not a thing, it's just an expression, I'm sure you got the point, so Consciousness is the thing which when applied to any activity turns it into meditation. You eat food, but if you eat food consciously, then you're doing eating Meditation, you mop your floor, you do your dishes, you wash your clothes, but if you do these activities consciously, you're turning them into Meditation. Whenever you do anything, just remember this word, just keep this word in mind, the word Meditation. In Zen, this has been the tradition. They put this word Meditation, after everything that they do. It's simply a pointer. It reminds them that they need to do whatever they asked to do, or whatever they want to do, consciously, That's they have, eating meditation, walking meditation, wood chopping meditation, cleaning meditation, It's really a great help. You should use this pointer too, Use the Meditation Pointer to remain conscious throughout the day.
