Recent headlines have been made that are discussing the possible gold bans that might happen in the near future, especially if inflation gets out of control. On this episode, we discuss the truth about the historical precedence for gold being outlawed and confiscated. While it did happen, the reason behind it was to boost gold reserves, devalue the dollar, and stick with the 40% reserve requirement the Federal Reserve had. Today, there is no need to acquire more gold in order to boost the money supply. The Fed can cause inflation whenever it wishes through loaning newly created fiat currency to the Treasury. Second, the confiscation never happened by force. It is too difficult and costly to enforce today, as it was back then. So don't fall for the numismatic coin scam, because you are buying garbage that won't protect you from a confiscation if it were to happen. If you really are concerned, you can store your gold in secure vault storage in a country with better enforcement of rule of law and better economic freedom than we have in USA today.
