Shadow treasurer Jim Chalmers claimed news media is going soft on Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and the economy which is typical of the “lunatic left who think there is this vast media conspiracy to defeat them” according to Sky News host Rita Panahi. Mr Chalmers reportedly was told members of the Labor caucus, news media – In particular Nine Media and News Corp – have been giving favourable coverage to the treasurer due to an impending government decision on digital media.
Ms Panahi told Sky News host Paul Murray the narrative suggesting the media has collaborated to undermine Labor and the Left completely disregards the fact the “bulk of the media leans very much left in this country”.
