Since the untimely and unfortunate passing of Sushant Singh Rajput, people have pointed the finger at Bollywood's powerful families like Salman Khan and Karan Johar and accused them of nepotism and bullying. On top of that Sonu Nigam has also exposed the nepotism in the music industry.
Clearly, there is plenty of evidence that favoritism and nepotism plays a big part in Bollywood, which often takes opportunities away from deserving actors and directors, who may not be from Bollywood families.
But, we cannot only point the fingers at these people. We also have to look at ourselves, the audience, the consumers. Will Karan Johar and Salman Khan take the problem of nepotism seriously if their movies are making 100 crores and becoming superhits?
The audience and the consumers must pay a big role if nepotism is to be destroyed in Bollywood.
