Sometimes, the textbooks and grammar teachers are wrong. How people SHOULD speak and how native English speakers NATURALLY speak is not always the same. In this video, I show you why "there IS a lot of people" (a grammar 'mistake') is more common than the correct "there are a lot of people" in natural everyday English.
