Food Delivery by Gondola to Venice's Elderly and Vulnerable

Food Delivery by Gondola to Venice's Elderly and Vulnerable CORONAVIRUS:

A charity in Venice is delivering food by gondola to elderly people or families who cannot shop for themselves, Saturday, April 18. The deliveries have been organized by "Row Venice," a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the traditional Venetian rowing style.

Italy's extraordinary commissioner for the coronavirus emergency warned regional governments to be very cautious in pitting health concerns against economic worries when deciding to ease some lockdown measures.

Angelo Borrelli warned that without strict health measures the economic revival will not happen or it won't last long enough to produce positive effects.

The warning came after authorities in Lombardy and other regions have been pressing the central government to start relaxing some restrictive measures on factories and many other businesses.

The current lockdown decree runs through May 3 and health experts keep advising that any easing must be gradual.
